Mrs. Cherry

Ms. Cherry loves 2nd grade at Community Roots Academy! A Laguna Niguel native, Ms. Cherry moved East for college. She graduated from Temple University with a B.A. Degree in Media Studies and earned her Master of Science in Education in Interdisciplinary Studies of Child Development from the University of Pennsylvania. Finishing her Philly tour teaching kindergarten, Ms. Cherry moved to Brooklyn where she taught PreK, Kindergarten, and 2nd grade. After 13 years away, Ms. Cherry returned to southern Orange County. She taught 2nd & 4th grades at a private school, discovered project-based learning, and kept a careful eye on CRA. Joining Community Roots in 2018, today Ms. Cherry loves the learning community among fellow teachers and supportive CRA parents! An eternal student herself, being at school is her happy place. When not in the classroom, Ms. Cherry enjoys swimming & going to the beach with her husband & son, fine dining, and rereading her favorite books.
