Ms. McGraw

Garden Specialist

Ms. McGraw is the garden specialist teacher at Community Roots Academy. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Education from the University of California Santa Cruz, and her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Master of Arts in Education (emphasis in Curriculum Development and Instruction) from San Jose State University.

Prior to becoming a teacher at CRA, she worked for two Santa Cruz elementary schools that prioritized garden-based science education and as a specialized instructor at an educational therapy facility. Ms. McGraw is thrilled to be a part of the CRA community. CRA’s dedication to project-based learning drew her to the school because of her passion for making personalized connections with all students to support the development of life-long learners. When Ms. McGraw is not teaching, she enjoys spending time at the beach, practicing Lagree, and reading.
